Pastor Leo V. Pennington has been at Midway Baptist Church since January of 1988. He was medically retired from Amoco Production Company following an oilfield accident which severly injured his left leg. Midway Baptist Church is his first and only pastorate.

He served as moderator for Pecos Valley Baptist Association in 2000 and 2001. He currently serves as the White Hat Off Site Co-Ordinator for the Pecos Valley Baptist Association Disaster Relief Feeding Unit.  He was instrumental in the formation of the feeding unit.

Leo and his wife Cathy have been married for 41 years. They enjoy hunting, fishing and camping.

Cathy Pennington - Office Manager

Cathy serves as Office Manager of Midway Baptist Church. She also serves as Executive Administrative Assistant at Pecos Valley Baptist Association.

Cathy is a certified Ministry Multiplier for ministry assistants for the Southern Baptist Convention. She leads conferences throughout the country.

She is also active with the Pecos Valley Baptist Association Disaster Relief Feeding Unit. She serves as the unit's Blue Hat. She also leads conferences for Involving Southern Baptists in Disaster Relief.

Her favorite pasttime is spending time with her grandchildren (3 granddaughters and 3 grandsons) and her great-granddaughter, Hayden. She enjoys photography and going hunting, camping and fishing with her husband, Leo. 

Sandy Britt - Music and Youth Director

Sandy Swarengin is the music and youth director at Midway Baptist Church. She is currently attending Eastern New Mexico University campus in Roswell where she is studying to be a sign language interpreter.

Sandy has two children, Jason who is working on his Masters in English and Kara who is working on her Masters in Athletic Administration. She has one awesome grandson who it the apple of her eye.

For fun and relaxation Sandy enjoys anything that has to do with horses. She is an accomplished rider, competes in horse shows, and gives riding lessons. On top of all of this she holds down a full time job.
